Once again Civil Air Patrol Group 2 will be participating in the San Francisco International Airport Aviation Day, on Saturday, June 6th. We will have both a booth and a CAP aircraft on static display (maybe we will get lucky and they will place the CAP aircraft next to the F-18 Growler that will be there!)
This event will be hosted by Alaska Airlines and Civil Air Patrol has been asked to staff a booth with one or more activities suitable for young people—think scouts, high school students, etc.—from 10:00 am to 2:30pm at the airport. This will be a terrific opportunity to showcase our Aerospace Education Program and we are looking for several AEO’s, Seniors and Cadet Program Officers that can staff the booth and bring some STEM kits and educational material that we can share. We need both AEO’s that can provide an educational lesson/demonstration and some seniors to help staff the booth. If you able to participate please respond with the following information:
1. Can you volunteer the entire day or a portion?
2. What lesson can you teach or anything AE related that you can demonstrate?
3. If you’d like to help staff the booth please let Capt. Pons know.
Please reach out to me directly with answers to the above questions. And YES, our own cadets can attend the event. I will be sending a separate email to Cadet Program Officers providing a sign-up sheet for cadets that wish to attend the event.
